I formatted the new drive I want to use (1 TB). There is other stuff on the drive, but I assumed macrium would still be able to find it. I created an image on an external 2tb usb drive, and put it at the root of the drive. My next move was to format the ssd and retry the boot migration using the Samsung boot migration tool instead, but I figured it should probably ask around first before doing something that might cost me 3+ hours of re-cloning.Thank you for the suggestion, and thank you everyone else for all of your input! I tried this plan tonight. So I check my boot options (F12) and tried to boot from my ssd directly but it wasn’t there either, only the same windows boot manager & windows boot manager TOSHIBA HARD DRIVE. Mans two other ambiguous boot options, none of which are either my hard drive or the ssd. So before I put my hard drive back in I went into the bios to check if the system had automatic set the right boot order but all it had was

But I was greeted with “your computer needs to be repaired” or something along those lines. So then I restarted again, this time removing the hard drive and starting the pc with only the new ssd. To which it booted from the hard drive still so I checked disk management as seen below and saw the hard drive is still the boot drive.

I cloned my hard drive using Macrium Reflect, it finished cloning the entitle disk over to the ssd (yes all partitions fit fine), I then followed the video I was watching online and rebooted. I am currently having an awful time trying to clone my old & slow toshiba hard drive to my new 860 evo (SATA M.2 version).
